Abstract: This paper introduces rated current of the resistor, and rated current and power of the DC resistor. Also, the reasons are analyzed why some DC resistance tester cannot rise to the rated current during the calibration in the lab.
Key words: DC resistance tester, up-flow, rated current, rated power, rated resistance
1.Introduction
DC resistance tester and circuit resistance tester are used for measuring coil DC resistance of the equipment, such as transformer, large and medium-sized motor and current transformer etc. The circuit resistance tester, a kind of measuring instrument, is utilized to measure the resistance between touch points of breaker or isolation switch or conductive circuit resistance. Both DC resistance tester and circuit resistance tester (hereinafter refer to as tester) adopt working principle of 4-terminal voltammetry to measure the resistance and provide high current of constant test DC, which meets the requirement.
2.Test Method
The circuit of resistance indicated value calibration is shown in Fig 1. Current output end and voltage sampling end of tester are respectively connected to current end and voltage end of standard resistor. Adjust the standard resistor to corresponding nominal value of calibration points and connect tester switch. When working current of tester reaches the rated current and remains steady, please read the indicated value of the resistance on the tester.
