Field Calibrating Method of Voltage Transformer Based on Series Resonance Power by Adjustable Reactor

Abstract: This article introduces the technical characteristics of three typical field installed voltage transformers, and analyzes the work theory and operation skill. The field calibrating method for voltage transformer in different circumstance is put forward by theoretic analysis and field test, and it provides a useful reference for technicians of TV calibrating.

The voltage transformer in the electric power system is primarily used for measurement, protective relay, automatic control, carrier communication and electric energy metering etc. Only voltage transformer used for electric energy metering (or measure winding) is generally regarded as error calibrating object. Voltage transformers in power plant and substation belong to the installation equipment and are mostly connected to high-voltage lines. It is not easy to assemble and brought back to the lab so that calibration is conducted on site.
